Glitch Digital Art Lab will launch Wu Cheng-ju (PB)'s (吳承儒) latest solo exhibition "Sync" on May 2nd. In the contemporary era of excessive information flow, our perception is often pushed, invaded by messages, even forming a kind of hard-to-detect "perceptual violence." Consciousness thus briefly detaches, while the body, as if activating a protective mechanism, isolates itself from the outside world.
"Sync" explores the process of "detachment" and "reconnection" between consciousness and reality. The artist intervenes in space through dual-channel spliced video, using corners and wooden panels to construct a multi-layered field of visual dislocation, allowing the audience to feel how the self constantly shifts, locates, and returns amidst information reception between video, sound, and space.
Wu Cheng-ju's solo exhibition "Sync" responds to the existing structure and vocabulary of the space, generating an immersive site through audiovisual technology, creating a heterogeneous perceptual landscape. In the exhibition, the artist interweaves video, sound, and spatial circulation, allowing the audience to feel the mutual pull between image and body while moving and viewing.
The segmentation, interweaving, and recombination of different images form a narrative rhythm where connection and rupture coexist, also making the exhibition a live experiment about perception, body, and spatial relationships. At the end of the exhibition period, Wu Cheng-ju will hold a closing performance, extending the audiovisual vocabulary and live energy of "Sync." For more performance information, please stay tuned!
