"24/7::: Repetition and Layering in Creation" Children's Art Education Exhibition
"24/7" (twenty-four-seven), meaning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is an idiom in the English-speaking world used to describe the non-stop cycle of every day. Have you noticed that each day in life is filled with repetition? In these "repetitive" days, we grow up unknowingly, and time slowly "stacks up" to shape who we are.
In fact, artistic creation is the same! In the world of artistic creation, "repetition" means reusing the same texture, shape, or color, while "layering" refers to the new changes generated by the overlapping of different elements. For artists, through countless practices and experiments, a unique creative style is gradually accumulated in such repetitive cycles.
Through new works by contemporary artists, the exhibition re-examines and discusses the classic creations of senior artists, building a dialogue bridge between adult and young audiences. It hopes to respond to this year's (2025) annual keyword of the Taiwan Children's Art Base, "#LookFromAnotherAngle," by shifting perspectives. We hope that all visitors, both adults and children, can understand the "repetition" and "layering" in artistic creation in a fun way.
