Welcoming Good Fruit: Joint Exhibition of Works by Dadun Seal Society Members
The Dadun Seal Society, guided by instructor Liu Yen-chen, consists of members from central Taiwan who share a passion for the art of seal carving. This members' joint exhibition aims to use calligraphy and seal carving works to roam within the small world of square inches through the intertwined beauty of lines and characters, arranging red and white spaces and counting white as black. Through the interplay of void and solidity in the composition, each seal carries myriad emotions. The beauty of the characters records feelings on the stone seals. Through reading and appreciation, one can feel the dialogue between each artist and the stone seal. With the advent of the information age and AI, hand-carved cold stone seals become even more uniquely warm. The exhibited works are diverse in style, integrating classical beauty into daily life. The art of characters can be profound and weighty, giving traditional culture new life and value.
