The Contours of Longing: Seeing You Again in Memory
The exhibition uses "longing, memory fragments, blur, contour, goodbye" as its core keywords.
Military dependents' village life, like many people's childhoods, was the daily backdrop of living with elders, containing elements such as window grilles, decorative tiles, long benches, and cooking smoke. As time passes, these concrete memories gradually dilute into faint contours.
This exhibition is planned to use semi-transparent materials with a sense of distance, such as wire mesh, iron wire, and gauze, combined with wooden frames to contain the imagery, to build a sensory field of "meeting the past again and learning to say goodbye" within the Chingshui Military Dependents' Village Cultural Park.
Audiences moving among the works is like walking through their own childhood memories.
The artist for this exhibition, Li Tung-chun (李東峻), graduated from the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts at Dayeh University, specializing in sculpture. Beyond his academic background, he has long assisted with large-scale commercial sculpture projects, gaining exposure to diverse materials and construction methods. He believes each piece of work has its suitable texture and color. These experiences have all been transformed into creative nourishment, allowing him to engage in creation more freely without constraints, and with a unique spatial aesthetic, he meticulously outlines the fragmented yet profound days of old.
