Resplendent - Western Painting Exhibition by Ou Tsui-ying (歐萃瑩)

Date: 2026-05-30 — 2026-06-21 Organizer: 歐萃瑩
Artist Ou Tsui-ying was born in the coastal town of Kuan-yin, Taoyuan. The seed of art sprouted early under the influence of her father, an art teacher. Childhood memories of nature's transitions and the rhythms of rural life have long transformed into an intangible artistic symphony in her life.

In the contemporary era of globalization, Ou Tsui-ying's creative footprint spans watercolor, pastel, oil painting, and ink painting. She captures the natural grandeur of places around the world, the towering silhouettes of cities, and even the figures of vendors in ordinary alleys with her brush. For her, observing the surrounding scenery is not just recording; it is experiencing the shifts and extensions of her state of mind at life's turning points.

In her works, reality and the virtual intertwine—infusing concrete scenes with emotion and projecting fantasy onto abstract nothingness. This process of "applying color and wandering" makes art not only a visual presentation but also a spiritual journey away from the mundane, expanding the infinite breadth of life within poetic and picturesque imagery.

"Resplendent" is the interweaving of colors and the brilliant blossoming of life.

A moving work of art is often born from the nourishment of colors layered upon layers.

This exhibition, through the delicate brushstrokes of oil and watercolor, touches upon the glimmers of natural beauty, urban streetscapes, and the human soul. From the tranquility of still lifes to the healing power of flowers, the artist captures the forgotten purity in life with a sensitive perspective. In "The Earth's Darlings" and "Joy," we see life's most carefree postures. The artist reflects on the human-centered habit, returning the focus to nature—look at the chicks murmuring in the rice stacks, the ducklings playing by the frosty lake; they are the true masters between heaven and earth.

This is not only a visual feast but also a call to the soul.
May viewers, amidst the resplendent colors, rediscover nature's happy rhythm, learn to cherish the present, and treasure all things around them.
