Realm of Flux — Wang Chen-wei's Landscape Construction and Spatial Perception

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-12-31 Organizer: 王振瑋
Wang Chen-wei
Specializes in public art projects and large-scale sculptures. His creations often show concern for the essence of life and contemplate the power of art to enrich the land and humanities.
Through the use and transformation of everyday materials, he employs creativity, form, materials, and techniques to provide audiences with a uniquely inspiring experience.

Curator Chen I-fan points out that "flux" refers to the generation of time and matter in movement; "realm" is a space that can be physically entered and sensorially captured, yet is perpetually formless.
This exhibition uses the unique local character of the Chingshui Military Dependents' Village as its vessel. From the moment the audience steps into the exhibition space, their walking itself becomes a sensory script choreographed by water, wind, and time.
The artworks are no longer just objects to be viewed, but catalysts that allow space, nature, and the body to "become" together.

Exhibited Works:
〈Spacetime Corridor〉: Located in the backyard of West House No. 10, this large-scale land art piece is conceptualized as a walkable "spacetime tunnel."
The artist says:
Due to the changing times brought by historical events, the uprooted place — Chingshui Military Dependents' Village. Bearing countless stories of migration filled with leaving home, blood, and tears,
it has, over many years and through multicultural fusion, formed a unique community character.
I translate this into a visually interwoven form, codified into a traversable corridor, to engage in a dialogue across spacetime.
The curator says:
Tile Batten ‧ Vortex of Time
Tile batten is a commonly used material in construction. The artist began creating with tile batten in 2021, echoing the concept of architecture/construction. Using the "line" as the basic form, repeatedly layering, returning to simplicity, yet also increasing in complexity.
The exhibition route extends from the indoor exhibition area outward. The backyard becomes a transitional space linking inside and outside. The artist uses tile batten to form a spiraling passageway, creating a ritualistic journey from indoors to outdoors, as if walking within folded timelines.
After passing through this fantastical passageway, the blue sky and strong winds of the Chingshui Village might feel particularly interesting.
