Meeting Masters Around the Corner - Lin Ching-ching (林清鏡) Solo Exhibition

Date: 2026-05-09 — 2026-08-23 Organizer: 林清鏡
Lin Ching-ching (林清鏡), a graduate of the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts (Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Group) at National Taiwan University of Arts, recently retired as Dean of the College of Design at Chienkuo Technology University. He previously served as the organizer for art exhibitions at the Taichung City Cultural Center. His works have received the Wu San-lien (吳三連) Arts Award, known as Taiwan's Nobel Prize and presented by the President. He also won first place in Chinese painting at the Provincial Art Exhibition for three consecutive terms (awarded permanent exemption from review), the Nantou County Yushan Art Award, and the Hsing Chung Arts Medal for first place in Chinese painting at the Provincial Art Exhibition. He has served as a jury member and collection committee member for major domestic art exhibitions.

His works aim to care for 'Taiwan' as the warp and 'insightful perception' of the mind as the weft. The imagery shifts between semi-abstract and semi-representational, blending and coexisting, releasing emotions to flow freely, showcasing a distinct contemporary spirit, and opening up new horizons and realms for ink painting. As the brushstrokes dance, they guide viewers to experience the flowing inner power through quiet contemplation.

In the past five years, he has applied diverse media and techniques, striving for breakthroughs to create new styles. By combining Chinese and Western brushwork with contemporary aesthetic thinking, he conveys inner feelings through experimental techniques and expresses creative concepts through subjective ideas, constructing his own painting language. This allows the soul to gradually settle through gazing, returning to pure and profound feelings.
