Lin Cheng-yu (林政佑) Solo Exhibition - "Household Plumbing & Electricity"

"Household Plumbing & Electricity Tingle Tickle" attempts to start from the errors, misconnections, and deviations in order within daily technological systems to re-examine our taken-for-granted perceptual experiences. Through the misplaced relationships among household appliances, switches, and control systems, Lin Cheng-yu causes the originally assumed cause-and-effect logic to begin to fail: pressing a certain switch activates an unrelated device; the expected response does not occur, but another space suddenly starts operating.
These misconnections are not merely malfunctions, but more like a tiny tickle to bodily perception. As the world gradually shares similar interfaces, modes of operation, and rhythms of life, the human body is also synchronized into a stable and standardized daily system. Through these subtle inaccuracies and deviations, the work reopens long-internalized perceptual habits, allowing the chain of control hidden behind convenience and efficiency to resurface.
This project also happens to respond to the brand spirit of Glitch, creating collisions between different interfaces, media, and life systems, generating another kind of imagination beyond the everyday through noise and dislocation.
