Iron Flower Blooming ~ T'ai-p'ing Ironwork Art Touring Exhibition
National Chin-Yi University of Technology, in collaboration with the T'ai-p'ing District Office of Taichung City, has held a touring exhibition of ironwork art pieces annually at cultural spaces under the Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau. Following its debut at the Huludun Cultural Center in 2023 (ROC year 112), and moving to the Tun District Art Center in 2024 (113) and 2025 (114), the exhibition will extend to the Seaport Art Center in 2026 (115). Under the theme "Iron Flower Blooming," it will tour across regions to display the works of ironwork art creators, fostering dialogue and exchange with the people of the mountain, coastal, and inland areas.
This award-winning works touring exhibition at the Seaport Art Center is titled "Iron Flower Blooming," taking the meaning of "flowers blooming," symbolizing a time of flourishing creation and blossoming art. The English slogan, "Where Iron Remembers, Art Begins to Bloom," echoes the Chinese theme, "The place where iron remembers, the time when art blooms." It integrates the creative energy of T'ai-p'ing's metalworking craftsmanship, aesthetic re-creation, and waste material transformation, inviting artists, craftsmen, students, and the community to participate together. This allows old materials, new perspectives, and local emotions to intertwine, blooming flowers of T'ai-p'ing within the texture of iron.
