Fantastic Journey Starting from Tun District - 2026 Technology and Art Special Exhibition

[About Technology and Art: Cross-Disciplinary Convergence of Technology and Art]

Taichung City Tun District Art and Culture Center has long taken "Technology and Art" as its core venue development strategy, deeply cultivating cross-disciplinary integration of technology and art. By introducing digital technology into exhibitions, performances, and promotional activities, and combining local original scripts, it is committed to translating local stories and giving traditional culture a completely new contemporary appearance. The center also hopes that through the added value of technological elements, it can provide "sensory" and "differentiated" arts and cultural services, creating a "Technology and Art Exhibition Space" that touches citizens' perceptions and showcases the infinite possibilities of art.

The 2026 "Technology and Art Special Exhibition" curator Chiu Chih-yung (邱誌勇) takes "Fantastic Journey Starting from Tun District" as the theme. The exhibition content crosses historical boundaries, biological evolution, and labor perception. Artists use forward-looking technologies such as kinetic machinery, interactive installations, and AI-generated images to construct a narrative field where audiences can "mutually observe" with the works. A total of 14 groups of artists and 11 works are exhibited, including the interactive work "Before the Play Begins, the Great Courtyard" (戲開演前大埕) digitally translated from the Tun Art original script "The Fantastic Journey of the Wu-feng Lin Family" (霧峰林家奇幻之旅), as well as "Vibration at 2000 Meters Altitude" (在海拔2000公尺震動), "Unheard" (Unheard), "Bright Room Project" (亮房計劃), "Bright Room Project: On-Site Production" (亮房計劃：現地製作), "Bio Nature X" series (Bio Nature X系列), "AI Calls to Save the Earth" (AI呼喚拯救地球), "Animal Scientist / Photographer" (動物科學家／攝影家), "Stealing the Scroll" (偷卷), "David" (大衛), "Annie" (安妮), and others.

The exhibition runs from Saturday, June 27 to Sunday, August 9, at the Tun District Art and Culture Center Exhibition Room A. During the exhibition, an expert guided tour will be held on July 11, and on July 11 and August 1, there will be a "Running Little Airplane Making Workshop" (會跑的小飛機製作工坊), a "3026 Future Creature Encyclopedia" (3026未來生物圖鑑) creative workshop, and 8 sessions of volunteer guided tours.
