Artist Hsieh Tung-liang is the first sculptor in Taiwan to be awarded permanent exemption from review qualification for the Provincial Art Exhibition. Currently residing in Taiping District, this work is in an abstract expressive form. The structure of the work is based on the concept of Tai Chi's yin and yang: solid within solid, void within solid, expressing the meaning of a person cultivating refinement, self-enrichment, gathering momentum, and hitting the mark with every attempt. The stainless steel sphere represents inner fulfillment and perfection, while the bullet-shaped bronze tip signifies the pursuit of excellence and progress in all endeavors.
