Elina Försti Solo Exhibition

Date: 2026-06-05 — 2026-06-28 Organizer: 艾琳娜・福斯提
Western Finland, on the edge of vast plains. Expansive farmlands stretch to the horizon, where light shifts between the summer's midnight sun and the long darkness of winter. Elina Försti lives and works in this landscape, and from here, she continues a profound exploration of color. Her paintings use barns as anchors—those wooden structures scattered across the fields, some leaning, some decaying, some long without roofs. Yet her focus is never solely on the architecture itself, but on the way light falls on old planks, the moments when color subtly transforms in different environments, and how the passage of time alters the tones and weight of the same sky and land. For over thirty years, Försti has continued to create variations on the same theme in an almost systematic way. Her creative practice is a continuous and consistent developmental thread, where each piece is both the result of thought and the starting point for the next. This exhibition presents fourteen new works from 2025–2026, all painted in oil on canvas. | About the Artist | Elina Försti, born 1971. Currently lives and works in Alajärvi, Finland. Graduated from the Free Art School in Helsinki in 2000, majoring in painting. Since 1998, her works have been exhibited in Finland and abroad and are held in the collections of several major Finnish art institutions. Starting from the barns common in Southern Ostrobothnia and other buildings or structures that fascinate her, Försti continuously explores the relationship between light, color, and space. #SoloExhibition #OilPainting
