Constructing Light and Shadow with Brushstrokes - Five-Person Calligraphy and Painting Joint Exhibition

Date: 2026-06-11 — 2026-06-28 Organizer: 陳柏屹、白翠蓉、王羿文、王寅懿、張明慧
"Light and Shadow" is not merely the visual play of brightness and darkness; it is the projection of emotion, memory, and thought onto paper. Constructing Light and Shadow with Brushstrokes uses calligraphy and painting as its language to explore the interweaving of brushstrokes and state of mind in creation. Just as light and shadow illuminate space, the artists construct the contours of their inner landscapes with their brushes, writing not only characters and images but also traces of inner emotions and fragmented memories.

This exhibition focuses on the reinterpretation of calligraphy and painting in a contemporary context. Through diverse media such as ink wash, calligraphy, seal carving, and glue-based pigments, it showcases the dialogue and transformation between traditional techniques and contemporary perception; revealing contemporary spiritual landscapes from traditional lines and refracting shared cultural memories from personal experience.

Viewers can perceive how light and shadow flow on paper and resonate in the heart between each stroke, experiencing that poetic space between reality and imagination. This is a journey of calligraphy and painting about viewing, feeling, and quiet contemplation.
