Arts & Learning Achievement Exhibition - "The Ever-Changing Log Cabin" Chen Yu-ju (陳宥儒) Teacher-Student Patchwork Art Exhibition

Date: 2026-07-01 — 2026-07-26 Organizer: 陳宥儒師生
The Log Cabin Quilt is one of the classic patterns of patchwork art. The piecing starts from a central square, with rectangles joined around the square, resembling the stacking of logs to build a house. Traditionally, the central square is often made of red fabric, symbolizing the "hearth" at home, the warm center. The surrounding rectangular strips are often colored with diagonal halves of dark and light tones. It is this contrasting light-dark color scheme that allows this seemingly simple patchwork pattern to produce many wonderfully diverse works through variations in arrangement.

This year, the patchwork art class of the Dadun Cultural Center's arts and learning program, once again led by teacher Chen Yu-ju (陳宥儒), starts from the basics of the Log Cabin pattern. The students have completed many uniquely characteristic and ever-changing Log Cabin works.
