Art Exhibition — Between Earthen Walls: Memories of Clay
Between Earthen Walls: Memories of Clay
Clay was once not a landscape, but daily life.
The earthen house (土角厝) was not just a dwelling,
but a trace of life coexisting with the land.
The walls bear time, cracks record daily life,
wind and smoke linger within.
When modern buildings replace earthen houses,
what we lose is not just the house,
but a way of life close to the land.
This exhibition looks back at the formation and disappearance of the earthen houses in Rueijing (瑞井),
walking into the streets of Rueijing;
passing by the Earth God Temple (土地公廟), wells, and various places along the way,
rediscovering memories and the meaning of home amidst the clay.
Between the earthen walls, memories still breathe slowly.
Exhibitor: Mr. Chen Ta-cheng (陳達成)
Exhibition Time: 6/2 (Tue) ~ 6/30 (Tue)
Exhibition Location: 3F Display Area, Tatu Branch
Creative Medium: Oil paint
Creative Models: Bamboo, red earthen bricks, etc.
