2026 Taichung City Artists Relay Exhibition: Blue Star Tears—Hsieh Shu-chuan (謝淑娟) Glue-Color Painting Exhibition

The 274th artist in the Taichung City Artists Relay Exhibition is teacher Hsieh Shu-chuan (謝淑娟). The exhibition theme "Blue Star Tears" originates from a hymn of praise. Once that brightest blue planet in the universe, its rivers have changed and its mountains transformed due to global warming. To restore its former glory where eagles soared and fish leaped, it is necessary to awaken the goodwill in the hearts of the people of the Blue Star to cherish all forms of life. Hsieh Shu-chuan uses the bleeding and layering techniques of glue-color painting to express the changes of time and space, adding threads to create a unique sense of peeling and stratification, allowing the mineral pigments to dance into varied forms under light and shadow. Through this expression of interwoven time and space, we care together for the past and present of this land we all inhabit, and further pray that all living beings may forever enjoy a peaceful and pure land.
