Yi Lu Exhibition
"Yi Lu" was the place where our late teacher Li Te (李德) devoted his life to studying the "way" of painting. Although the teacher has passed away for over ten years, the Yi Lu disciples still gather here, continuing his理念 of穷究空间架构 and striving tirelessly.
Recently, 26 fellow painting friends from Yi Lu exhibited their respective research成果 at the "Tucheng Arts Center" (土城藝文館). There are 62 paintings altogether, covering still life, portraits, figures, and landscapes. Although the subjects of study differ, the pursuit of理 is the same, and due to each person's different秉性, the works present diverse相貌. From追摹物象再现自然 or解构自然呈现心象, whether expressed concretely or abstractly, every stroke and ink strives to落 in the pursuit of space and the exploration of实存.
Our late teacher once said: "Painting is for discovery, discovering a deeper layer of natural之理; it is for认识,认识 a more pure and unadulterated self. Painting is a大道 of修行." Because it is a大道 of修行, for decades, painting friends have continuously researched the错落关系 of物象 in space, deeply体会 that the "absolute and真实" of nature (the object) cannot be fully grasped, and can only be逼近 through daily不间断的淬炼.
The Yi Lu disciples use this exhibition to重新省视 their paintings and start anew. During the exhibition period, two座谈会 will also be held. We welcome friends and师长 from the art world to莅临指教.
