Date: 2026-07-28 — 2026-07-31 Organizer: 陳惠美
To promote the integration of craftsmanship into school education and foster the rooting of craftsmanship aesthetics on campus, this program cultivates school teachers to become seed teachers of craftsmanship through teacher empowerment training courses. It is hoped that teachers will integrate craftsmanship techniques, aesthetics, and spirit into their teaching, inspiring students' creativity and life perception, allowing the craftsmanship time of 'Slow Happiness · Live Freely' to flow through the campus like living water, nourishing the campus life field, and jointly realizing the sustainable living concepts of 'Living Craftsmanship · Craftsmanship Living' and 'Slow Living SLOHAS'! Let craftsmanship aesthetics enter the campus, opening up the campus life field of 'Slow Happiness · Live Freely'!

Instructor: Master Artisan Chen Hui-mei (陳惠美) (Thread Wrapping Craft|Living National Treasure)
Thread wrapping is a traditional handicraft passed down among Taiwanese folk, closely related to everyday life and life rituals. Thread wrapping primarily uses silk thread, wire, and paper pieces as materials, combining techniques such as cutting, wrapping, twisting, and coiling to create various patterns and shaped ornaments. In Hokkien (Minnan), it is called 'Chun-ah Flower,' in Hakka it is called thread wrapping, and in Kinmen it is called Lucky Flower. Chun-ah flowers are generally used for auspicious occasions, especially playing an important role in traditional weddings. Each Chun-ah flower carries a blessing meaning and is also a symbol of status in the wedding ceremony. 'Chun' is a homophone for 'surplus' in Taiwanese, signifying a good omen praying for 'surplus year after year,' known as a flower carrying 'blessings.'
This course introduces the traditional culture and symbolism of thread wrapping craft. Through the application of paper cutting, wrapping, and various techniques, participants will learn the basic skills of thread wrapping production. Under the personal guidance of the master artisan, they will experience the exquisite craftsmanship and learn to make and apply basic thread wrapping flower patterns. Furthermore, the learning outcomes can be brought into the campus by teachers, rooting education, cultivating seeds of craft culture, and injecting craft characteristics into local education.
