What's Happening?

When you walk into the exhibition, see unusual installations, hear sounds that are both unfamiliar and familiar, or face a performance that's hard to understand, and the question arises in your mind, 'What's happening here? Is this also art?'—exploration has actually already begun.
Art isn't necessarily just about 'beauty'; it's more like a key to opening up the world.
Perhaps, it's a process of constant questioning. Artists often start from life, responding to the world they are experiencing in their own ways. In this exhibition, six groups of creators invite us to think together about 'What's Happening?' through diverse forms such as performance, quilting, painting, photography, sound, video, and installation.
Creating is about finding one's own voice. When language is insufficient to express feelings, creation becomes a way to respond to the world. Through artistic creation, we not only speak ourselves but also begin to hear others.
In the New Taipei City Art Museum's 'Exploration Base,' you are not just a viewer. When you stop and slowly feel, you'll find the works are also responding to you.
