Second Floor / Second Exhibition Room - Taiwan's Folk Characteristics
Presents the characteristics of Han Chinese farming villages and scenes of indigenous slash-and-burn agriculture, using artifacts and settings to recreate the pioneering life of Taiwan's early settlers. Exhibition areas include: 1. Origins of Taiwanese Folk Culture, 2. Farming Village Melodies, 3. Scenes from Fishing Villages, 4. Green Mountains.
Second Floor / Thematic Exhibition Area
Exhibitions planned according to themes. The current theme is "Childhood Memories," displaying nostalgic children's toys and old utensils.
Second Floor / Third Exhibition Room - Daily Life, Settlements & Architecture, Feng Shui & Layout (Talismans and Warding Off Evil)
Recreates scenes from the daily life of common people in early Taiwan and displays architectural and settlement models, as well as talismans and artifacts for warding off evil, conveying the essence of traditional life. Exhibition areas include: 1. Deity Hall (Ancestral Hall), 2. Study and Accounting Room, 3. Main Hall (Living Room or Flower Hall), 4. Bedroom, 5. Kitchen, 6. Revitalized Cultural Artifacts, 7. Architecture and Settlements, 8. Feng Shui and Layout.
Second Floor / Fourth Exhibition Room - Taiwanese Folk Craft Culture
Displays traditional Taiwanese folk craft objects, conveying the exquisite skills and meanings of Taiwanese folk crafts through the beauty of various artifacts. Exhibition areas are divided into "Taiwanese Han Folk Crafts and Objects" and "Taiwanese Indigenous Crafts and Objects."
Third Floor / Fifth Exhibition Room - Taiwanese Indigenous Ceremonies and Taiwanese Folk Beliefs, Rituals, Performing Arts, and Opera
Integrates settings and model scenes to create the lively atmosphere of temple squares, temple fairs, and parade troupes, and introduces the diverse aspects of Taiwanese folk deities, performing arts, opera, and music. Exhibition areas include: 1. Indigenous Ceremonies, 2. Jiao Rituals, 3. Temples of Taiwan, 4. Parade Troupes, 5. Deities of Folk Beliefs, 6. Ritual Implements for Worshiping Deities, 7. Folk Opera and Music.
Third Floor / Sixth Exhibition Room - The Process of Life and the Past, Present, and Future of Folk Culture
From the joy of birth to the reverence for death, provides symbolic traditional artifacts from various life stages, allowing visitors to gain a deep understanding and appreciation of the cultural context of life rituals such as birth, aging, illness, and death. Exhibition areas include: 1. Birth, 2. Marriage, 3. Illness and Medical Treatment, 4. Reverence for the Deceased and Honoring Ancestors, 5. The Lasting Virtue of Ancestors, 6. Seasonal Festivals, 7. From the Past to the Future.
