"My Animal Best Friends" Yeh Man-ling (葉曼玲) Themed Picture Book Exhibition
Days accompanied by animals --
Playing together when it's lively, basking in the sun together when it's quiet.
They tell you "I'm here" with their tails, ears, or a gentle nuzzle.
From her own experience of keeping birds, to the adjustment between a newborn and a cat, to the loneliness of growing up and the companionship of a little snail, the stories under the painter's brush are sometimes gentle and lyrical, sometimes hilarious and humorous. This exhibition brings together three works about animal best friends by picture book author Yeh Man-ling (葉曼玲), including selected original paintings from "Slowly and Me" (Little Hill Publishing), "The New Little Monster" (Little Hill Publishing), and "Little Cotton" (independently published). Through different mediums and the warmth of hand-drawn art, it leads the audience to glimpse how the author thinks and refines between text and image, allowing the stories to gradually take shape.

About Yeh Man-ling (葉曼玲)
Graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Tunghai University. Currently a picture book author, illustrator, and puppet costume designer.
Drawing from the experience of raising two daughters, she creates picture books close to children's hearts, and uses the narrative scope and vision of theater to heal readers through illustration and picture books. Her self-written and self-illustrated picture book "Who's Coming for Afternoon Tea?" was adapted into a puppet play in 2023.
She has received awards including the Honorable Mention for the Hsin-yi Picture Book Creation Award, selection for the dPICTUS The Unpublished Picturebook Showcase, the Excellence Award in the Dian-mei Illustration Award, the Special Jury Recommendation Award in the Hao Hui Ya Picture Book Award, and selection for the Bologna Book Fair Taiwan Pavilion list... etc.
Her published works over the years are rich, including the latest 2026 work "The New Little Monster," as well as "The Onion Willingly Becomes Smart," "There Was a Stone That Didn't Want to Sleep," "Deer Me," "Slowly and Me," and her representative work "Who's Coming for Afternoon Tea?" etc.
