Cherishing the Patriarch's Legacy: Special Exhibition Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Founding Master's Parinirvana
Cherishing the Patriarch's grace, we reminisce by his side; the lamp of the lineage is passed on, his exemplary conduct embodied in his words and deeds.
In the 115th year of the Republic of China, marking the first decade since the parinirvana of the Founding Master of Chung Tai Chan Monastery, Venerable Master Wei Chueh, the Wood Sculpture Branch of the Chung Tai Museum is holding this special exhibition, "Cherishing the Patriarch's Legacy: Special Exhibition Commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the Founding Master's Parinirvana," to express gratitude for the Patriarch's deeds and cherish the memory of the Venerable Master's compassionate teachings.
The third floor of the Wood Sculpture Branch will be transformed into a special memorial exhibition area, divided into the sections "Inheriting the Linji Lineage," "Founding Chung Tai," "The Awakened One's Exemplary Model," and "The Lamp of the Heart Never Extinguished." "Inheriting the Linji Lineage" presents the lineage of Dharma transmission continued through the Venerable Master's practice, including records of his secluded meditation and enlightenment. "Founding Chung Tai" displays the historical journey of Chung Tai Shan's establishment, opening a documentary chapter in Taiwan's Buddhist history. "The Awakened One's Exemplary Model" and "The Lamp of the Heart Never Extinguished" take the Venerable Master's teachings of the Four Mottos of Chung Tai and the Fivefold Propagation of Buddhism as their core, presenting to the public the Chung Tai world that has carried on the past and forged ahead into the future, persevering to this day. Through rich historical materials and artifacts related to the Patriarch that witnessed many important events, we look back on the arduous steps of the journey and look forward to the vow to continue deepening our roots.
In conjunction with the upcoming Fivefold Propagation Heart Journey activities, we invite old friends to review the Patriarch's exemplary model and his teachings, words, and deeds, while also welcoming new friends to learn about the Patriarch's achievements in founding Chung Tai and his great vow to propagate the Dharma universally for the peace of mind of all beings.
