"Beneath The Leaves (在 枝 葉 之 下)"

Some lives grow upward, toward light and air; some lives extend downward, slowly taking root deep in the soil. Branches, leaves, roots, and bones are all shapes left by time in matter.
In the natural world, growth is never a single direction. It may be pruned, restricted, or quietly unfold in hidden places; sometimes it extends outward, sometimes it slowly builds its own structure within.

This exhibition brings together three artists who depict the state of life's growth through different creative languages. Ho Yu-sen (何宇森) moves between human body and plant forms, where flow and condensation, bones and roots intermingle, revealing the forces of support and growth deep within life. Keng Chieh-sheng (耿傑生) transforms wood and plant materials, deconstructing the temporal sequence of matter, allowing materials once seen as lifeless to return to a state of growth. Liu Wen-hao (劉文豪) uses bonsai as a metaphor, depicting the posture life takes under constraints and norms, making crooked and trembling lines traces of bodily experience.

Growth is not only an upward direction but also a process of continuous inward penetration. Form is not limited to the surface but is the trace left by the interweaving of time, body, and natural forces. Those structures and energies hidden beneath the leaves are quietly shaping the appearance of life, slowly growing into their own form in silence.
