65 Craft Festival: Craft Play Theater X Naturally Theater Troupe (4 Sessions)

Date: 2026-06-06 — 2026-06-07 Organizer: 自然而然劇團
The '65 Craft Festival' presents a five-day 'Handmade Theater,' transforming crafts from static objects into a sensory feast that can be seen, heard, and personally experienced. This year, it specially invites the 'Naturally Theater Troupe' to give new life to recycled materials with an eco-friendly spirit, 'Crazy Dream Art' to translate the warmth of artisan labor through circus rhythms, and the 'Wild Kids Theater' to use drama to excavate the emotional folds deep within humanity. These three teams jointly explore the zeitgeist of the everyday and the marginal, bridging the gap between the public and contemporary art. Through the cross-disciplinary translation of theater and dance, they reconnect the people, events, and objects within the space, sparking profound reflection on the past and future, intimacy or alienation. Accompanied by the notes of live musicians piercing through the city's sounds, they weave together every strand of emotion from the island's works, allowing this passion for craft to function like a sustainable gear, continuously turning in the resonance of art.

Naturally Theater Troupe: 'Red-Haired Nien-nien'
A lovely little play about 'how to say goodbye to toys properly.'
The story revolves around Nien-nien, with her full head of red hair, as she moves from childhood fantasy and care to adult responsibility and letting go, leading the audience through joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness to explore the meaning of 'growing up' and 'letting go.'
Blending environmental themes with anthropomorphic characters, it is lighthearted yet meaningful, suitable for family viewing, and also invites adults to re-examine those forgotten childhood emotions.

Performing Group Introduction:
The Naturally Theater Troupe was founded in 2014 and is based in Hsinchu County. It was co-founded by Polish actress Kasia and Taiwanese theater worker Tsou Ya-chuan (鄒雅荃).
The troupe believes that theater is not just a venue for performance, but also a way to dialogue with the environment, people, and life.
With 'environmental friendliness' as its creative core, the troupe practices the spirit of recycling, remaking, and reusing. Stage sets are mostly made from recycled materials, and costumes are modified from second-hand clothing. The primary performance format is environmental theater, allowing the space itself to become part of the story, making the site, situation, and performance resonate with each other.
