【2026 Mei You Ji Summer】 Youth Urban Cultural Practice Project - July Session
【2026 Mei You Ji Summer|Youth Urban Cultural Practice Project – Taipei Cultural Decoding Mission】 This summer, let's get to know Taipei again! Through walking tours of three major cultural districts—Dadaocheng, Mengjia, and Dalongdong—combined with traditional architectural aesthetics, urban observation, and youth team practice, high school and university students will learn to "read the city." The activity includes indoor courses, outdoor exploration, and a results presentation. Outstanding proposals may have the opportunity to be transformed into public welfare tours in the future, becoming true transmitters of city stories. Limited to 20 participants, small-class deep interaction.
Activity Features:
Truly stepping into Taipei's three major cultural districts
This course will actually visit:
Dadaocheng|Dihua Street District
Mengjia|Bopiliao District
Dalongdong|Taipei Confucius Temple
Through district walks, architectural observation, and local stories, understand the historical context of Taipei's urban development.
Learn to "read" Taiwanese traditional architecture
This is not just about taking photos for social media. You will begin to understand:
The symbolic meaning of stone lions
Temple spatial layout
Traditional architectural decorative arts
Ridge divine beasts and cultural symbols
Taiwanese folk belief aesthetics
When you know how to read the symbols, the city becomes completely different.
From participant to transmitter of city stories
The most special aspect of this project: the final outcome is not a report.
Instead, it is: "Youth Urban Public Welfare Tour Proposal"
Participants will work in groups to complete a city cultural tour plan. Outstanding proposals will have the opportunity to be formally listed with assistance from Mei You Ji and opened to the general public for free participation in the form of "public welfare tours."
Let students truly become: "Transmitters of city stories"
