2026 "Puppetry Heritage - Master Workshop"
Registration for the annual "Puppetry Heritage - Master Workshop" is now open!
Want to personally feel the divine charm of operating puppets in Puppet Theater, or delve deeply into the震撼 rhythm of the backstage gongs and drums? Or perhaps you want to hand-sew exquisite helmets and hats, or carve traditional props? This year, we have prepared equally rich courses, inviting you to step into the artistic hall of Puppet Theater.
🎨 Four Major Course Categories:
1. Frontstage Puppet Manipulation Class: Learn professional puppet manipulation techniques and performance dialogue, experiencing the art at your fingertips.
2. Backstage Music Class: Master the operation of gongs and drums and the rhythms of ritual performances. Outstanding performers will have the opportunity to join the troupe's training program.
3. Craft Production Class: From helmets and hats to robes, hand-sew traditional costumes stitch by stitch.
4. Carving Art Class: Divided into a basic class (weapon props) and an advanced class (tables, chairs, animals), to refine woodworking craftsmanship.
Organizer: Chen Hsi-huang Traditional Hand Puppet Troupe (陳錫煌傳統掌中劇團)
Co-organizer: Taipei Puppet Theater (台北偶戲館)
Sponsor: Taipei City Government Department of Cultural Affairs
