Yuan-ch'ing Kuan Folk Artifacts Permanent Special Exhibition
Yuan-ch'ing Kuan in Changhua City is the only temple in Taiwan named "Kuan" that enshrines the Jade Emperor. Its attached Folk Art Museum houses a rich collection of artifacts. Built in the 28th year of the Ch'ien-lung reign of the Ch'ing dynasty, it is the only temple in Taiwan named "Kuan" and dedicated to the Jade Emperor. Local devotees in Changhua commonly call it "Tien-kung T'an" (Jade Emperor Altar). It is a national-level historic monument. A fire in April 2006 damaged the main hall. The restoration project is now complete, and it has reopened. The attached Folk Art Museum of Yuan-ch'ing Kuan is open, focusing on the historical evolution of Yuan-ch'ing Kuan, the beauty of its traditional architecture, and providing a venue for the study and inheritance of folk arts. The exhibited artifacts are diverse and numerous, aiming to promote cultural tourism.
