Yi's Art Forms Waves, Grain Holds Light

Date: 2026-06-16 — 2026-07-05 Organizer: 施懿紋
Shih Yi-wen (施懿紋), a native of Lukang, Changhua, studied under Shih Chen-yang (施鎮洋), an important preserver of the "Traditional Woodcarving" craft, inheriting his traditional woodcarving lineage. She manifests the温润含蓄 beauty of craftsmanship between wood, knife marks, and patterns, and is deeply involved in traditional woodcarving teaching, transmission practice, and research. This exhibition, titled "Yi's Art Forms Waves, Grain Holds Light," presents her recent creations, teaching, and research, showcasing the woodcarving life that spreads outward like water waves. Her works also contain内敛光采 within the interplay of knife marks, wood grain, and light and shadow. Drawing on the meaning of encountering a知音 and spiritual connection contained in "Lofty Mountains and Flowing Water (高山流水)," the exhibition寄托 the creator's hope to meet and resonate with viewers in the exhibition space.
