The 89th Taiyang Fine Arts Special Exhibition

The Taiyang Fine Arts Association is the oldest and continuously exhibiting art group in Taiwan. The newly elected chairman of this term is the renowned watercolorist and President of Kuo General Hospital in Tainan, Kuo Tsung-cheng (郭宗正); the vice chairman is former Secretary-General Chuang Yu-ming (莊玉明), with the new Secretary-General being Tsai Sheng-chuan (蔡勝全) and Deputy Secretary-General Chiu Yi-ying (邱奕穎).
The 89th Taiyang Fine Arts Special Exhibition coincides with the 92nd anniversary of the association's founding. Currently, there are 87 members and 6 probationary members, divided into six departments: Oil Painting, Glue Color, Ink Color, Sculpture, Watercolor, and Printmaking. The Yang San-lang (楊三郎) Award for this term was presented to senior member Teacher Chen A-fa (陳阿發). The 44 award-winning entries from the open call include: Gold Medal Award: Cheng Ping-huang (鄭炳煌); Silver Medal Award / Dr. Kuo Award: Pan Yi-kai (潘奕愷); Bronze Medal Award / Cathay United Bank Collection Award: Wang Chien-yu (汪倩玉); Cheng Shih-fan (鄭世璠) Award: Chang Yi-sheng (張益昇); Chen Yin-hui (陳銀輝) Award: Li Chia-wen (李嘉文); Merit Award / Lin Kuo-chih (林國治) Award: Lei Kai-hsun (雷凱勛), among others. A total of 133 works are exhibited this term.
