Going Home: The Story of Siaolin Village

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-12-31 Organizer: 小林大武壠族
The permanent exhibition "Going Home—The Story of Siaolin Village" includes four units: The Home in Memory, The Vanished Homeland, Life in the Temporary Housing, and Life in the New Home. Through oral history videos, artifacts, models, and interactive games, it presents in an exploratory format how the Taivoan people, recorded in early documents as the "Four Plains Aboriginal Tribes," came to this land to establish their homes and continue their traditions. It also depicts how the descendants of the Taivoan people, having experienced a devastating disaster, demonstrated resilience and joined hands to rebuild their homes. The exhibition aims to present the story of this land and, through the villagers' search for the feeling of returning home, lead everyone to explore the traces of the ancestors' lives on this land and the gradually forgotten and vanishing traditional culture, recounting the story of Siaolin Village from before the typhoon disaster, through the catastrophe, to its reconstruction.
