✨2026 Taiwan Literature Festival ✛ Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of "Taiwanese Language Newsletter"✨

In 2023 and 2025, we held the "Taiwan Literature Festival" to promote Taiwanese-language writing and the works of Mr. Chen Lei (陳雷). Starting this year, we will designate June 27, the birthday and passing day of Mr. Chen Lei, as "Taiwan Literature Festival" to commemorate Mr. Chen Lei, promote Taiwanese language, and make it a major annual event for Taiwanese language!
This year 2026 is also the 35th anniversary of the important Taiwanese-language publication — "Taiwanese Language Newsletter." On July 1, 1991, "Taiwanese Language Newsletter" was first published. Within this publication, the writing method of "Han-Lo Combined Writing" (漢羅合寫) was practiced, solving the limitations of Chinese characters, popularizing Pe̍h-ōe-jī (Romanized Taiwanese), and returning modern Taiwanese-language writing to an era of freedom.
This year, we specially hold "Write Our Taiwanese Language" — the 35th Anniversary Exhibition of "Taiwanese Language Newsletter." On June 27 and 28, the exhibition opening features a "Taiwan Literature Forum," inviting Taiwanese-language activists from home and abroad to discuss the positioning, significance, and future of Taiwanese literature; we also specially invite Mr. Cheng Liang-kuang (鄭良光), founder of "Taiwanese Language Newsletter," to return to Taiwan from the United States for a personal lecture and guided tour.
Everyone is welcome to join and participate together!
