Taiwanese Language Family Event ~ Rich Taiwanese Flavor

Date: 2026-06-13 Organizer: 胡沛晴
This event invites teacher Hu Pei-ching (胡沛晴) from the Formosa Taiwanese Language Children's Ancient Club to help us understand our cultural roots through Taiwan's daily cuisine. The content will introduce representative Taiwanese dishes, such as braised pork rice, oyster omelet, and radish cake, explaining the ingredients, cooking methods, and Taiwanese language terms for flavors. It will also share the historical stories and local sentiments behind the dishes. Using everyday Taiwanese language, the instructor will guide participants to understand the relationship between 'food' and 'language,' helping them realize that Taiwanese language is not just a language but also a cultural memory. Interactive Q&A sessions will be interspersed throughout, giving participants the opportunity to express their favorite Taiwanese flavors in Taiwanese, creating a relaxed, friendly, and emotional atmosphere, thereby achieving the dual goals of language learning and cultural identity.
