Tahsi Woodcraft Community Co-Learning Project - Contemporary Round Chair Technique Workshop

The woodcraft industry in Tahsi (Taoyuan) is at a critical juncture of generational transition and technological transformation. The Tahsi Woodcraft Ecology Museum has launched the "Contemporary Round Chair Technique Workshop" this year, aiming to support local wood artisans in jointly facing and solving the dilemma of "disconnection between design and daily production," and to strengthen the R&D capabilities of Tahsi furniture.

This project invites Professor Huang Chun-chieh (黃俊傑), a leading figure in Taiwan's wooden furniture industry, to lead the course. The curriculum will focus on "theoretical reshaping of structural aesthetics" and "digitization of traditional techniques." Through 1:5 scale model making, the workshop helps participants review proportional aesthetics and structural mechanics within a limited time, and explores how to apply CNC wood processing in production to establish standardized production management thinking.
