String Forest – Banxian Forest Carnival: 2026 Banxian Chamber Music Concert

<i>String Forest – Banxian Forest Carnival</i> is a new concert curated by Banxian Chamber Music, blending classical music with Taiwanese local narratives. The first half features young performers interpreting classic string works by Grieg, Tchaikovsky, and others; the second half reinterprets Saint-Saëns' <i>Carnival of the Animals</i> through Taiwanese Hokkien storytelling, weaving together the leopard cat, mountain forests, and traces of modern development into a forest tale of Taiwan. Audiences will hear Taiwanese Hokkien phonetics, contemporary compositions, and children's illustrated projections within familiar melodies, experiencing an auditory and visual feast full of clues and surprises.
