"Picture Books, Images, and Children | Spring Semester" is a new course for 2026. Through picture book appreciation, shared reading of classic children's literature stories and films, it will guide you to call forth the child living in your heart, rediscover childlike wonder, explore the power of picture books, and enjoy the pleasure of reading them.

After completing one semester, you will learn...
・Get to know 60 great picture books from around the world including the UK, USA, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, and more!
・Deeply appreciate the life and masterpieces of picture book masters!
・Read classic children's literature books and watch films together!
・Techniques for reading aloud and performing picture books!
・Explore "The Nature of Children" & appreciate picture books on children's rights issues!
・Taiwanese picture book authors personally share their creative process and behind-the-scenes stories!

[Instructor Profile] Hsiung Chun-chun
A children's literature worker long dedicated to promoting parent-child shared reading, picture books, and children's rights. Currently serves as the instructor for the "Picture Books, Images, and Children" course at New Taipei City Yung-ho Community College, co-founder of "Little Big Picture Book School," curator of the National Human Rights Museum's "Children's Rights Learning Base," and host of the Podcasts "Children's Books, and Then?" and "The Little Island of Human Rights Picture Books." Formerly served as a children's book editor for Parenting Magazine, planning editor for a reading channel, former president of the "Children's Culture Research Society," and host of the YOYO Parent-Child Book Club.
