Nantou County Drum King Jazz Music Development Association "2026 Drum King Jazz Music Feast"
The Nantou County Drum King Jazz Big Band is located on Pishan Road, Tsautun Township, Nantou County. It is a group of musicians who promote the development of musical arts and establish the band's style. To promote the development of music, culture, and the arts, propagate music education, combine orchestral skills to participate in diverse music, cooperate with government policies, integrate cultural and artistic talents, and promote the development of musical arts.
The band will perform (accompany) at the "2026 Drum King Jazz Music Feast" at the Nantou County Government Cultural Bureau Performing Arts Hall on June 13, 115 (2026), as a warm-up for future "charity" public performances and "fundraising concerts" for solitary elderly and disadvantaged children. Band leader Wei Jung-t'ai (魏榮泰) has loved music since childhood, began learning piano under a teacher at age 4, and devoted his youth and prime to immersing himself in jazz bands as a vocation, serving as the pianist (keyboardist). He is also skilled in arranging, writing "band charts," and was promoted to big band conductor. Over 30 years ago, due to changing times and the rise of 3C products, traditional jazz bands were forced to disband. To this day, he still cannot forget his beloved piano skills and cannot bear to part with a group of old friends who were once professional musicians for television stations, famous song halls, nightclubs, and other industry venues but are now fading away. After much consideration, he decided to summon these veterans back to the stage. Everyone has united in consensus to give back to society with their exquisite musical skills, once again igniting the brilliant spark of their own lives.
Admission by ticket request (Ticket requests open from 09:00 on May 13 at the service counter on the 1st floor of the Cultural Bureau. Each person may request 2 tickets, until supplies last). For ticketing information, please contact: Ms. Chen 0961-237999
