Date: 2026-03-11 — 2026-05-31 Organizer: 懷德居木工實驗學校
The Miaobei Arts Center invites the Huai-te-chu Woodworking Experimental School, which has long been deeply involved in wood art education and promotion, to present its selected wood art creations. Since 2004, Huai-te-chu has continuously revitalized traditional woodworking craftsmanship through a combination of research, education, and practical work, enabling the spirit of micro-production crafts to respond to contemporary life. In 2023, it was honored with the Ministry of Culture's "Taiwan Craft Award – Collaboration Award."
This exhibition selects works from the Huai-te-chu Woodworking Experimental School's "Wood Star Project," "One-Day Woodworking Camp," and thematic class courses over the years, showcasing wood art creations on diverse subjects such as bicycles and violins, presenting the rich appearance of woodworking between daily utility and contemporary aesthetics. Related publications are also exhibited simultaneously, inviting the audience to appreciate the warmth and depth carried by wood art from the aspects of skill, space, and life.
"Huai-te-chu" began in 2004, revitalizing the value of traditional crafts through research, education, and promotion, allowing micro-production crafts to become a role that actively integrates and enlivens life, living, and a virtuous economic cycle within a capitalist environment, thus receiving the Ministry of Culture's "Taiwan Craft Award – Collaboration Award" in 2023.
For over twenty years, with the support of its founder, Professor Lin Tung-yang, Huai-te-chu has successively established: the Huai-te-chu Furniture Knowledge Museum (founded in 2004), the Huai-te-chu Woodworking Experimental School (founded in 2006), and the Huai-te-chu Cultural Foundation (founded in 2008). In addition to inheriting woodworking culture and promoting furniture art, it actively cultivates domestic woodworking talents. In recent years, it has engaged in close exchanges with the woodworking communities in Denmark and Japan, expanding students' international perspectives and allowing the world to see the excellence of Taiwanese craftsmanship.
