Learning Indigenous Movement kicaquan ta kinacalisiyan 【Make a Betel Nut Palm Bag!】
Inviting the exhibiting artist of "The Tribe's Treasure Box" — Teacher Pan Ya-li (潘雅莉), to lead everyone into the betel nut palm world of the Paiwan tribe, redefining traditional weaving with a new aesthetic perspective.
Number of participants: Limited to 12 people (until full).
In tribal culture, betel nut palm weaving is not just an object; it is closely related to life rituals and social organization. It records the rhythm of tribal life and is a perfect combination of art and practicality.
In the changing times, we re-examine the survival rules of tribes and nature through material culture. Let traditional aesthetics transform into infinite possibilities in modern life, turning this art dependent on the land into a continuously pulsating industrial force.
This course not only passes on skills but also hopes to stimulate diverse creativity, transforming tribal traditions into potential value with "Taiwanese cultural colors." Through learning and dialogue, we will together establish a Paiwan aesthetic system, letting art drive the tribe's economic benefits.
