The Thao Cultural Development Association has named the classroom "Kalapaw," which in the Thao language means watchtower, hoping to lead visitors to see Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) from a different perspective, and to help those who stay here learn more about Thao indigenous culture, including:
1. Thao Lifestyle Journey - Guided tour of Thao legends and rituals
2. Multi-Experience Workshop (Handmade DIY Weaving)
3. Thao Unique Cultural Tour
Location: Thao Cultural Gathering Place (No. 62, Yiyong Street, Riyue Village, Yuchi Township)

Thao Lifestyle Journey
Using the concept of a living museum, local tribespeople lead visitors through the tribe's ritual grounds, houses, fishing and hunting areas, connecting everyday sights to an understanding of Thao culture, practicing the spirit of "the more local, the more international" through the Thao Lifestyle Journey, making the tribal space an everyday museum.
Unique Cultural Tour (includes traditional costume experience)
This activity will introduce everyone to Thao culture, with slide presentations and photo sharing, plus a tribal costume dressing and learning experience, which is sure to make your Ita Thao (伊達邵) trip full of memories. Free of charge, while spaces last.
Multi-Experience Workshop (Handmade DIY Weaving)
Plans weaving, local natural materials, plant gathering and other activities, combining tribal traditional wisdom with contemporary life applications... hand-weaving of the Chii-li fish (奇力魚) and owls.
