"Grandpa's Shadow" Choral Theater Concert

Star Voice Chorus (星聲代合唱團) has been awarded as the county's outstanding performance troupe for many consecutive years. They operate with dedication, deeply rooted in the local community, and actively explore the possibilities of跨界融合 between music and theater. This year, with "family affection, tolerance, understanding, and love" as the creative core, they convey sincere emotions through stage works, presenting the "Grandpa's Shadow" Choral Theater Concert. Adapted from the同名 picture book published by Parenting World (親子天下) and created by Audrey Yuan (奧黛莉圓), the story focuses on grandparent-grandchild affection, leading the audience to rediscover the precious meaning of companionship and growth through a warm and delicate narrative. The first half will be presented in traditional choral form, featuring selected classic choral pieces from around the world such as "Ave Maria for Youth Choir," "The Place Where I Lived as a Child" (小時候住過的地方), and "Farewell South of the City" (城南送別). Through rich and diverse musical vocabulary, the audience is guided to experience life stories and emotional landscapes contained in different cultures. Additionally, in collaboration with Zhongxing Elementary School Star Kids Children's Chorus (中興國小星奇兒童合唱團) and Star Voice Women's Chorus (星聲代女聲合唱團), they specially selected songs depicting hometown and land emotions, such as "The Mole Cricket Wants to Marry" (蛄蠐欲嫁尪) and "Grandma's Penghu Bay" (外婆的澎湖灣), sharing Penghu's memories and scenery through pure and sincere singing. The second half, "Grandpa's Shadow" Choral Theater, presents the picture book story through an interweaving of music, drama, and visual art.
