This film was the opening film of the 2024 Locarno International Film Festival and won the Audience Award. Directed by Italian director Gianluca Jodice, the film tells the story of the French King Louis XVI and his family after their arrest in 1792, imprisoned in the Temple Tower in Paris awaiting trial, far from the luxury of the Palace of Versailles and facing vulnerability and isolation for the first time. It is a historical docudrama that reveals the dark side behind the collapse of the Ancien Régime's power, a story never told before.
