Coexisting with the Fragrance of Rice Permanent Exhibition — Taiwan Rice Castle: Rice Museum

Changhua County is the champion in both rice cultivation area and yield, serving as Taiwan's granary. Walking through the simple countryside, the rice fields present a healing and beautiful landscape. Proudly calling itself the 'Model Rice Student of the Rice World,' Chung Hsing Rice established the rice museum 'Taiwan Rice Castle' in the rural Pitou Township. Since its opening in 2010, it has become a highlight amidst the rice fields, an intellectual and emotional destination essential for experiencing Taiwan's rice culture.
In an era of culture and creativity, to allow visitors to more deeply experience how a single grain of rice can ripple out into a beautiful lifestyle and cultural landscape, Taiwan Rice Castle did not hesitate to dismantle and rebuild from scratch, undergoing a large-scale renovation. Starting from the most ordinary phrase 'Eat Well,' it reinterprets the beauty of life brought by a grain of rice, hoping that the renewed Taiwan Rice Castle can lead Taiwan's tourism factories into a new 2.0 era.
Entering the lobby is the 'Granary of the World.' Chung Hsing Rice, which has successfully crossed borders and marketed globally, has collected rice samples from various countries, displayed extensively on a high wall. Rice is Taiwan's pride and a bridge of friendship connecting with the world.
Ascending the stairs, one encounters the literary and poetic aspects of rice. The traditional building's 'threshing ground' (埕) serves as a space for audiovisual multimedia communication, inviting you through artistic animation to become a knight of the round table, where change begins at the dining table.
The staggered 'house-within-a-house' exhibition spaces inside the museum resemble small clusters of huts in the fields. You can wander among the small wooden cabins to view the exhibits, looking into life layer by layer from multiple perspectives through rice, delving into the long river of culture. All stars converge around the moon. In the DIY classroom, we invite you to properly cook a pot of rice, sincerely breathe in the fragrance of rice, and enhance the color and aroma of white rice. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows are rows of huge rice storage silos and a technological packaging plant, exuding a classic industrial style. Coming here first feeds your intellect, then allows you to sensually enjoy dining. Eating well lets you experience a truly genuine 'rice meal gathering.'
