Blazing Horse Presents Art—Taiwan Woodcarving Association Member Joint Exhibition
The Taiwan Woodcarving Association has been established for over 20 years, gathering woodcarving creators from all over Taiwan, from north to south. It features indigenous ancestral spirits and life woodcarvings, religious statues and deity wood art, unique woodcarvings that follow the original wood's form, and contemporary woodcarvings that respond to reality and inner emotions. Many exhibitors are national treasure-level heritage masters, as well as modern woodcarving artists. Traditional woodcarving techniques are the most fundamental skills, spirit, and foundation of woodcarving. Early wood art integrated architecture, religion, and nature into the works. Subjects, whether figures, animals, plants, or various objects, are all expressed by following the wood grain and form, combined with personal expression to interpret and maximize the characteristics of the wood. Whether realistic or abstract, they all inherit the traditional techniques of woodcarving, extending into more personal ideas, showcasing individual style and characteristics.
This year is the Year of the Fire Horse. In this prosperous and galloping year, the Taiwan Woodcarving Association aims to promote diverse woodcarving art and culture, continue the heritage of local woodcarving art, and promote the development of Taiwanese woodcarving art, enhancing the connotation of works, creating added value, and showcasing the beauty of woodcarving that combines humanity and art, as well as the diverse styles of woodcarving art. Through the resonance of visual imagery, experience the romantic feelings of nature and humanity. This exhibition features 42 works. The public who love woodcarving art are welcome to visit and appreciate.
