"Between Line and Vessel: A Husband's Collection, A Wife's Paintings" Joint Exhibition by Liu Feng-sung (劉峯松) and Weng Chin-chu (翁金珠)
"Between Line and Vessel: A Husband's Collection, A Wife's Paintings" uses the "fish" as its metaphorical core, connecting multiple layers of time, memory, and emotion. The image of the fish originates from the patterns on everyday vessels and also flows between brushstrokes and lines. Between stillness and motion, collection and painting, it unfolds a deep dialogue that transcends life and art.
Liu Feng-sung (劉峯松), with his long-term collection of fish plates, carries the historical texture and warmth of life from Taiwan's folk culture. Those vessels, weathered by use and time, are not only remnants of craftsmanship but also containers of memory, reflecting the collective imagination of abundance and blessings from bygone eras. Simultaneously, Weng Chin-chu (翁金珠) uses the pen as her medium, transforming the imagery of fish into freely flowing lines, capturing the rhythm of life and inner perception between black and white, turning viewing into a spiritual reflection and sedimentation.
Through this exhibition, viewers can not only witness a dialogue of artistic forms but also experience a continuation concerning life, belief, and emotion. Between line and vessel, that ceaselessly swimming fish quietly guides us to look back upon the enduring connection between ourselves and this land.
