After the Turn – Solo Exhibition by Lin Liang-tsai (林良材)

Date: 2026-06-25 — 2026-07-19 Organizer: 林良材
Internationally renowned master sculptor Lin Liang-tsai (林良材) will hold an exhibition at the Changhua County Art Museum at the end of June. This exhibition, curated by "Double Square Gallery (双方藝廊)" and continuing the core spirit of his 2025 solo exhibition "The Turn" at Double Square Gallery, explores the unique dynamic rhythm and sense of power in Lin Liang-tsai's works through the two focal points of "turn" and "body." This "After the Turn" returns to the artist's hometown of Changhua, transforming the intimate close-up viewing originally experienced in the gallery into a macro-scale walk-through within the context of an art museum.
This return is not merely a shift in spatial scale but also a further contemplation of the "temporality" in Lin Liang-tsai's creations. If "The Turn" captured the balance of posture in rotation, then "After the Turn" attempts to guide viewers to penetrate the hard shell of the material and witness the changes metal undergoes through the tempering of time. Living in a silent world, Lin Liang-tsai transforms perceptual differences into unique observations in his creative process, forging cold iron and copper into bodies imbued with breath and warmth through the hammering vibrations that most people would find unbearable. Under the artist's forging, these works are no longer merely static sculptures; they are the traces of life left after he perceived gravity with his body and wrestled with materials in silence, and they are also the most honest language through which he transcends sensory limitations to converse with the world.
Within the space of the Changhua County Art Museum, the curatorial team has constructed a walk-through path concerning time, material, and will. The viewer's perspective, alternating between circling and gazing, resonates with the lifelong, persistent posture of the artist's life, allowing one to see that dignity and power which, after tempering, remains warm and unextinguished.
