2026 Taiwan International Ethnographic Film Festival Tour – Image Museum Station (6/05~6/28)

Founded in 2001, this festival is Asia's longest-running ethnographic film biennale. The curatorial team is dedicated to promoting ethnographic films from Taiwan and around the world, introducing the diverse issues anthropologists focus on and their fieldwork research, presenting how film as a medium in ethnographic practice can achieve results that written text cannot, thereby breaking the boundaries of ethnography.
💡 Festival theme: "Fables of De/Industrialization" (後/工業傳說)
Focusing on industrial and post-industrial spaces, and their materiality and mythology in the process of transformation. Through ethnographic films exploring infrastructure, ruins, and experiences of displacement, the curatorial team seeks to trace the "slow violence" proposed by South African writer Rob Nixon, which accumulates continuously amid socioeconomic change, as well as the more direct and far-reaching impacts of industrialization and institutional structures.
