2026 Nantou Hakka Culture Academy: Living Hakka Language Study Class (Tsautun Class)
Hakka is one of Taiwan's national languages. To promote Hakka language learning in the county and strengthen Hakka language inheritance and cultural promotion, the Nantou County Hakka Development Office and the county's Tsautun Hakka Culture Association jointly offer the "Living Hakka Language Study Class (Tsautun Class)," providing opportunities for the general public interested in the Hakka language to further their studies. Through the course, participants learn basic Hakka, understand Hakka culture, bringing the language into the community and naturally using Hakka for conversation in daily life.
This course is taught by the county's Hakka Language Heritage Instructor, Chuang Yu-chen (莊鈺珍). The main teaching material is the Hakka Affairs Council's "Let's Learn Hakka - 12-Year Basic Education Hakka Language Teaching Materials." The course content emphasizes the coherence and practicality of language learning. The material structure progresses step-by-step, from vocabulary, phrases, sentence patterns to life interactions, guiding students to gradually accumulate Hakka language ability in a relaxed learning atmosphere, thereby naturally using Hakka for communication in daily life and promoting the rooting and inheritance of Hakka in the community.
