Figurative Basics Class
1. Eligibility: (Any one of the following conditions)
(1) Those currently enrolled in or graduated from university departments related to fine arts, sculpture, etc.
(2) Those inheriting the craft of wood carving masters (children or apprentices are acceptable).
(3) Adults with one year or more of foundational wood carving creation learning.
2. Condition: Selected participants must personally attend the entire course and comply with relevant learning management regulations.
3. Quota: 8 primary selections, 2 alternates. The organizer may adjust based on enrollment situation, with priority given to first-time selectees.
4. Application:
(1) Domestic applicants must submit: application form, one three-dimensional model of the proposed creation, with the longest side preferably within 20-30 cm. Model material is unrestricted but must be sturdy and complete. Theme is unrestricted but must be expressed in figurative form, also considering suitability for enlargement via wood carving.
(2) International applicants must submit: application form, A4-sized creation sketches (electronic image files of detailed front and side sketches of the proposed work, one each in jpg format, 300dpi, 3-5MB size). Theme is unrestricted but must be expressed in figurative form, also considering suitability for enlargement via wood carving. Send to email: huey@mlc.gov.tw.
5. Tools: Participants must bring their own carving knives, mallets, sharpening stones, coloring tools, etc. (can also be purchased locally after registration). Chainsaws, electric drills, sandpaper, etc., will be provided for shared use by the organizer.
6. Course: Focuses on learning the application of basic wood carving techniques. Using the selected model or sketch as a sample, enlarge and complete one original wood carving work approximately 40 cm long / 40 cm wide / 60 cm deep.

Realism Research Class
1. Eligibility: (Any one of the following conditions)
(1) Those who have participated in and completed one or more sessions of this event's "Figurative Basics Class."
(2) Those currently enrolled in or graduated from university departments related to fine arts, sculpture, etc.
(3) Those engaged in professional wood carving art creation for one year or more.
2. Condition: Selected participants must personally attend the entire course and comply with relevant learning management regulations.
3. Quota: 4 primary selections, 1 alternate. The organizer may adjust based on enrollment situation, with priority given to first-time selectees.
4. Application: Regardless of domestic or international, all applicants must submit: application form, personal resume (format unrestricted), electronic image files of 5 personal works (jpg format, 300+ pixels, 3-5MB size). International applicants may submit English electronic files or written materials to email: huey@mlc.gov.tw.
5. Tools: The course focuses on learning the application of special techniques in realistic wood carving. Participants must bring their own carving knives, mallets, sharpening stones, coloring tools, etc. (can also be purchased locally after registration). Chainsaws, electric drills, sandpaper, etc., will be provided for shared use by the organizer.
6. Course: Using a physical object or picture as a sample, complete one original wood carving work approximately 20 cm long / 10 cm wide / 10 cm deep.
