🪵 Artist Introduction
Artist Utong Aoieong (歐陽羽童) regards creation as a medium for connecting with the world, seeking her own position through the exploration of materials. Her work is primarily sculpture, but often extends to installation or performance art.
For her, the happiest moments are when she flips back and forth between thinking and creating, gradually constructing her own views in the process, and then transforming those views into objects to share with others.
Currently, her work focuses on the relationship between objects and form, returning to the most primitive state of objects. She wants to re-examine the process of material abstraction and re-establish a relationship with materials through understanding.
She hopes viewers can see more diverse aspects of materials through the works, without being limited to the industrial form of materials, and thus realize that we all have the freedom to choose how to interact with the material world.

🪵 Exhibition Introduction
"Material Abstraction (重組自然)" offers multiple ways of viewing matter, inviting viewers to re-understand how the world is constituted, and to discover interesting, unexpected perspectives from the arrangement and combination of materials.
"Material Abstraction (重組自然)" focuses not only on the materials themselves, but also on how we understand matter, how we make choices in the face of materials, and how to find new possibilities beyond existing manufacturing logic, without being limited by the established production methods of generations.
