Understanding the Locomotive of the Classical Music Industry - The Symphony (Part 2)

Date: 2026-07-10 — 2026-10-09 Organizer: 新月藝文
The symphony is almost the finale piece in concert halls and performances worldwide. Because what the symphony displays is the most complete and macroscopic musical worldview in classical instrumental creation.

The ever-changing size and awe-inspiring sound of the symphony orchestra touches every soul present, making one live in the moment!

Professor Peng Kuang-lin (彭廣林)'s new course series will be divided into three stages, starting from the symphonies of the 18th-century Classical period "Father of the Symphony" Haydn—the London symphonies, to the symphonies of the late Romantic Mahler at the beginning of the 20th century, introducing representative composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff in order.

It will also select and analyze their classic symphonies to help everyone, when watching symphony orchestra performances in the future, naturally visualize the sound picture of the symphony in their minds, allowing them to comprehend and integrate into the spiritual world of the symphony.

[The second stage consists of four classes, with times and topics as follows]

▪️07/10 (Fri) 14:00 Romantic "New Sounds": Schubert, No. 8 "Unfinished"; Schumann, No. 3 "Rhenish"; Mendelssohn, "Italian"

▪️08/14 (Fri) 14:00 The Guardian of Classical Symphony - Brahms: Listening pieces: No. 1 ~ 4

▪️09/04 (Fri) 14:00 Symphonies from Russia: Listening pieces: Tchaikovsky, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 "Pathétique".

▪️10/09 (Fri) 14:00 Symphonies from Central and Eastern Europe: Dvorak, No. 9 "From the New World"; Rachmaninoff, No. 2

Starting from Friday, July 10, 2026, once a month on Friday afternoons, welcome to join Professor Peng Kuang-lin to understand the locomotive of the classical music industry - the Symphony.
